THE BAY RAYS // ALIBIS

Bedford Esquires, Thursday 20th October @ 7.30pm

You want to see a double header of two of the most exciting new bands in the UK you say? Well look no further! The Bay Rays and Alibis are heading to Esquires on Thursday 20th October, two of the most hotly anticipated Rock & Roll bands on the planet under one roof – Don’t miss it.

Drawing a buzz from all the right places, Kent three-piece The Bay Rays are on their way up.  With DIY describing their debut Four Walls as a place where “time and space are sped up tenfold and limbs hang loose”, the garage rockers already have a hypnotic effect. In the same way, single New Home is a heavy-hitting cut in classic rocknroll formula that hurtles into a speed guaranteeing destruction but stealing exhilaration instead. With a spindly solo riff gunning for another hit of the hook, it’s deliciously addictive.

Comprising of Harry Nicoll (vocals/guitar), Maxwell Oakley (drums) and Anthus Davis (bass), the band have been hard at work in the studio with Jolyon Thomas (Slaves, Daughter, Willie J Healy), with signle “Four Walls” being play listed by Radio 1 certainly doing no harm, as they stormed their Glastonbury set back in June, which paved the way for new single “New Home” (video below).

Sounding like a more urgent version of brit-rock that came out in the 00’s, with a big dollop of The Dandy Warholes, The Bay Rays are one of the UK’s hottest new bands, and one the radar of most “ones to watch” type columns.

Live, they’ll tear the walls down with their careering rock. Considering the praise heaped on The Bay Rays, it’s gonna be a big year for them.

The co-headline band is Alibis: Comprising of Harry Nicoll (vocals/guitar), Maxwell Oakley (drums) and Anthus Davis (bass), the band have been hard at work in the studio with Jolyon Thomas (Slaves, Daughter, Willie J Healy), with signle “Four Walls” being play listed by Radio 1 certainly doing no harm, as they stormed their Glastonbury set back in June, which paved the way for new single “New Home”.
