THE AMAZONS + Guests

Friday 9th Deember – Holy Molys, @ Bedford Esquires
We’re very please to announce that recent Q Awards nominee’s (Best breakthrough band) The Amazons will be coming to room 2, Holy Molys at Esquires on Friday 9th December!

The Amazons are a blistering, melodic rock quartet from Reading.Born and raised Reading locals, Matt, Joe, Elliot and Chris take the aggression of grunge and punk and splice it with melody and harmony.

Diving into a live performance from the fearsome four engulfs the senses. The band is fronted by Matt Thomson; a towering powerhouse with a vocal range that typifies the band’s musical blend. Joe Emmett, a thunderous metronome behind the drums, Elliot Briggs on bass and Chris Alderton adding infectious guitar riffs come together to create The Amazons. 2015 saw The Amazons develop from local favourites to a more wide spread national name. With support throughout the year from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac, as well as fervent backing from BBC Introducing in Berkshire, The Amazons gathered fans nationwide. Coupled with a host of live dates throughout the summer including Reading & Leeds, Dot to Dot Festival, Live at Leeds and Barn on the Farm this fan base is grew substantially. Don’t You Wanna? was the band’s debut EP. Released on their own label ‘Goth Cruise Records’ in October last year, the support from Radio 1 has been overwhelming, and the EP has been a worthy thirst-quencher for the band’s newly-established but loyal following. Now signed to Fiction Records, home to The Maccabees and Tame Impala, The Amazons are building towards their next release in March ahead of another busy summer. Recently tipped as one of Radio X’s top 20 acts to watch in 2016, the Amazons continue to tour across the UK..
